Covering sixteen counties
and assisting well over 400 patients and families, the Tri-State
Bleeding Disorder Foundation has been a pillar of support for those
living with a bleeding disorder in the Greater Cincinnati and
Northern Kentucky region for almost forty years. Offering a
variety services, it has always been the Chapter’s goal to provide
programs that help fulfill the physical, psychological and financial
needs of the bleeding disorder community.
From transportation to and from hospital visits
to providing medic alert bracelets, the Chapter offers a number of
medical and financial services. This may include medicines,
supplies, groceries and housing allowances for hospital stays.
The foundation may even be able to help with additional costs that
are not covered by insurance. Resources are available to
provide for psychological needs and counseling. A Special
Needs Fund was created to help with financial assistance for
families suffering hardship due to a medical crisis or complications
associated with a bleeding disorder. Further, it can be
exceedingly difficult for an adult living with a bleeding disorder
to receive normal preventative dental care. Because of this
the Chapter has set up a program to help those in need obtain this
very necessary care.
In addition to assistance with medical and
financial issues the Tri-State Bleeding Disorder Foundation is
dedicated to providing educational and social support to the
community it serves. Every year the youth of the Foundation
have the opportunity to attend an award winning camp program.
Camp provides attendants the chance to learn independence, self
management and leadership skills while simultaneously building
strong relationships with peers. Additionally, the Chapter
provides frequent educational and social events that allow the
adults to network, share stories and build a stronger community.
Blood Ties, the Foundation’s newsletter, keeps members and
friends up to date and current on relevant concerns, while Chapter
advocacy efforts ensure that our interests are being represented in
state and federal legislature.
It is important to note that the many programs
and services the Tri-State Bleeding Disorder Foundation offers are
supported entirely from grants, special event fundraisers and
donations. The Chapter is not a United Way Agency and receives
no funds from the local, state or federal government. Join us
in continuing the Chapter’s tradition of excellence in supporting
the bleeding disorders community by becoming a member today.
You may choose the level of support that is most appropriate for
you. Your membership dollars will not only help offset the
cost of the many services offered by the Chapter, but will also
contribute to ongoing research efforts on behalf of the Foundation’s
parent organization, The National Hemophilia Foundation. Your
commitment today means continued support and hope for our community
tomorrow. Please review the Membership Form for additional
information and benefits of joining today.
